About the Idaho Beef Council Board of Directors

An eight member Board of Directors guides the Idaho Beef Council.  The board consists of three cow/calf producers (one of whom represents the Cattlewomen Council of the Idaho Cattle Association), two feeders, two dairymen, and an auction market representative.  Board members are recommended by their respective organizations and appointed by the Governor for a  three year term.  The Idaho Beef Council recommends that board members serve no more than two consecutive terms. 

The Board conducts annual elections for a chairman, vice chairman, and treasurer.  The elections generally occur during the final meeting of each fiscal year.  The chairman, vice chairman, and treasurer also serve as the Council's Executive Committee.  Officers serve for one year and may be re-elected. 

The Chairman will appoint, with approval by the board, a delegate and alternate to serve on the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF).  These representatives serve for a one-year term and may be reappointed. 

The Chairman will appoint, with approval by the board, representatives to serve on the Federation of State Beef Councils division of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA).  These directors are appointed for a one year term and may be reappointed.
