2006 Idaho Beef Ambassador Named!

The Idaho Beef Ambassador Contest was recently held on the CSI campus in Twin Falls.  Five finalists were selected from a written speech they submitted in March to participate in the state contest.  These finalists were judged in two areas: speech and interview.  The finalist having the highest combined score in the speech and interview categories was named the 2006 Idaho Beef Ambassador.  Whitney Lusk, Idaho Falls, was named the 2006 Idaho Beef Ambassador and received a $500 cash award, an awards plaque, and an expense-paid trip to the National Beef Ambassador Contest in Minneapolis, MN in October.  Dan Billington, Richfield, was the 2nd place winner and received a $200 cash award and awards plaque.  Mindy Soderquist, Terreton, was named 3rd runner up and received a $100 cash award and an awards plaque.

"Here's a perfect recipe for the beef industry: Combine a bundle of energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, then add a batch of intelligence and speaking ability.  Sprinkle with a desire to educate others and a bit of wonderlust.  What would you call it?  The "National Beef Ambassador Program" would be an ideal choice."
